Both are good, so go with your gut. If it was me, I would go with a BC PS3, if you can find one. (all of them play PS1 games).
As for the quoted text, I prefer the BD over the Digital DL you get from Netflix. With NetFlix, you tell them you have a BD player, and if the movie you want is on BD, that's the one they will send you. It's great, because you never have to think about it again.
The service cost the same regardless of if you get BD movies or DVD's.
