I'm definitely for it in certain situations. Giving a twisted and sick person a nice, air conditioned room with free food (and probably a TV or something) for the rest of his/her life is just not ample punishment for some crimes. (of course, ample care would have to be taken to make sure that the right person has been charged)
It shouldn't cost more to execute someone than to keep them in prison for the duration of their life, assuming legal fees aren't a huge problem.
