I disagree. If anything I think what might keep it from being a good game is that they are too tight with what then user can do... few people are willing to work to find the "end arounds" to some problems.
I remember with an early platform maker like this how i had to use an end around to make a character pick up a ball and throw the ball... by rigging it so that whenever he touched the ball it gave him a counter to throw the ball, then rig the "throwing" to timed intervals to give it the sense of randomness... and switching the animation... and paterns etc. Was a pain.
I've got a lot of expierence with these types of games... and the quality levels and games are always out there. It just takes while to find or make them.
There will be games and things you wouldn't even of thought possible when you see it.
