The issue isn't just friend codes. Game ID's in brawl are the worst for me not to mention useless. Assigning a friend in that game seemed like a matter of National Security.

Both people had to enter the games specific ID tag, then each had to accept the other.

Wii friend codes would be great if they were really in the background. But they aren't Wii friend codes are actually quite a brick wall.

1. Wii has a parental code system - that should be marketed and used.
2. Friend Codes are pointless as people still make friends with internet strangers
3. I don't see why it couldn't just be left at:
a. Party A sends Friend Request
b. Party B accepts Friend Request unless
2b. Parental code required to accept this friend.

That would of been the tried and true method.

Of course we all have our own ideals.

 

There goes any perceived advantage of the friendcodes.  Unless you want to argue that there are more pedos on XBL than the entire internet, but I'm not buying it.  Just look at the quantity of friendcode threads here on VGC if you need proof.
