Supposing you discount VC games yes I suppose it would. That is an inaccurate way to list the number of great games for the console though as it discounts a large number of games you can buy for the system via a method used for other games that are counted. Do VC games ever get leaderboards? Achievements? HD? Or are they just ROMs? There's your answer.
VC games are like Xbox Originals, not like XBLA games, and those games don't get Metacritic scores either. I really don't even know how to respond to this. It is astonishing how you said nothing in so many words. My rebuttal will be "How many Wii games get any/all of that?" The asnwer is a few of them get one or two parts, but none of them have all 3. Whether or not a game has had anything added to it is irrelevant to whether or not the game is readily available for purchase by anyone who wants to spend the money. Xbox Originals, VC games, and any gme that is backwards compatable with the system and is still in print should be counted. |
I've said nothing? Do you really not understand? Because it's pretty fucking simple. Yes, Wii games may not have any/all of those things, that's irrelevant. An Xbox 360 disc game would be counted on Metacritic even if it didn't have leaderboards or achievements, way to miss the point.
Are Wii and 360 disc games ROMs? No. Are XBLA games ROMs? No. Are VC games? Yes.
Do you see the difference now? Jesus fucking Christ...
We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai
It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps
We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick
