Oh I agree with you mate. I use to read EGM regularly growing up, but I do so much less often these days. Obviously the advent of the internet has changed many things, especially gaming magazines, but it would be wrong to take away things that the magazine has done.
For instance, no EGM, no Akuma in Street Fighter. That's pretty significant in the gaming world.
But I also agree with you about the bad taste, no ethics, and terrible "journalism." Sensationalism can sell, and EGM is overtly asking their consumers for all the help they can get in the magazine these days. That's how bad things are for them.
The reason I used them as a reference though, is that they are a more established, not necessarily good, name in video games and when they put out a top 100 list of the best of games it's worth noting. So in making my point about the fact that Saturn has some stellar games, I think it's more sound to source a several year old EGM article, as opposed to SEGAfanboy.com.
