I don't really remember much of the SNES version but I know I played it a long time ago and it was good. Once you are done with it you should try the Genesis version (not a port a whole different game) which is, in my opinion, even better. It's a little more action based than the SNES.You can do battle in cyberspace and infiltrate corporation to steal money ect. I wonder if it will ever come to the VC. As for why it was turned into a shooter, no clue but I think Shadowrun is somekind of P&P RPG so it wasn't really a sequel to that game and it's the 360 where shooter is pretty much standard fare so...
