Anything realistic.

I always thought the protaganists/antagonists from just about every game were stupid. They often remind me of bad Hollywood movies, where the "perfect" hero is just in time to save the day from the bad guy who always has plans for world domination along with a cheesy laughter to go with it.

I liked MGS4's Snake - he's far from perfect, has lots of mental/physical probs, and takes a hard beating a few times. You never seen him do fake overexaggerated fighting moves (like Raiden). He's believable, all his imperfections and his lack of typical hero traits along with the fact that he always seems troubled, are what make him interesting.

Still though, I always hated the idea of the whole world counting on one person alone to save everything. You see it in so many games but for me, it's gotten stupid, old, and boring.

Snake is not the only believeable protagonist
