Thanks Sony. Just when some of your statements start to sound "rational" again, you come out with this.

"we’re not trying to get the senior citizen group to get into gaming"

--> We don't like new customers?

"we’re looking to convert the PS2 owners and the tens of millions of installed base that were playing DVDs and playing games on their PS2, to now play Blu-ray movies and Blu-ray games with their PS3."

--> Sorry to have to tell you this, but most of the PS2 'casualz' owners I know have upgraded to a Wii - not a PS3.

As for BluRay movies - we'll consider it, when the cheapest player is less than $700 (AU). Upscaling DVD players can be picked up for around $70AU.

The last remaining thing I need for my living room is 'online movies on-demand' - and its just a question of picking which service I want.

...

If their business model is based on "converting PS2 owners to PS3 owners", they are going to have a REAL hard time this generation :P
