I also doubt that there are HUGE advantages for games. Mostly because its pointless for multiplatform games which will fit on a DVD one way or another. (If GTA4 fits on a DVD EVERYTHING fits on a DVD, that game was huge). But I think its a decent advantage esp. for PS3 only games where devs do not need to put work into compression etc. and this generation is still young so perhaps we will see a couple of games that are multi-DVD on 360.

And its cool for movies.

 

With some people being able to take advantage of higher quality sound and some companies looking at texture streaming as a way to deliver better graphics, DVDs are much closer to their limit than they were at the beginning of the generation.  For the next generation, having a console that can't store more than 9.4GB on a disk will be a larger disadvantage.  It will be a competitve necessity for console games to have the higher capacity drives.

I give that post a 9.6.
