There will probably be a mix of Jasper and Falcon MoBos over the next few months, possibly even longer, depending upon how much Falcon stock is still sitting in assembly line bins.

It took quite a bit of time during the transition between the Zephyr and Falcon before every new 360 bought off a shelf had the new chip set. This shouldn't be much different.

I'm sure MS will change the box eventually, since it's a permanent change, rather than the holiday bundles from last year. I'm curious to see if they have the same SKU as the 20GB or if they applied new sticker SKUs as well. Retail outlets can't exactly sell two different products at two different prices with the same SKU.

The only problem with the $350 60GB SKU is that many seem to think the price is going down to $300 in a couple months or less, so I see no reason to buy one right now until this is confirmed or dispelled, and there's a way to confirm which stock has the new MoBo.

GreenMedic is correct.

Regardless if the Jaspers do draw 175W, or less, it is unlikely that 100% of 60GB models have Jasper innards. Last year, it took until the end of the year to ensure that *most* Xbox 360's sold were indeed of the Falcon variety.

That's not to say that the Jasper is going to absolutely draw less wattage (but I would certainly think so). Eventually, it's going to take dozens of sharp-eyed Xbox 360 fans at their local stores, and a few teardowns to confirm what exactly goes into the new 60GB models, as well as the true Jasper chipsets.

Having said this, we do know the rumor of some 60GB packages being vastly lighter...But obviously that's unconfirmed. I'll be watching at my local stores to see if 60GB's pop up, and see if I can find any with confirmed wattage outputs.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
