I'm wishing for the day when any console game can be downloaded, as soon as disk capacity allows for it.
1- It will make games cheaper (i.e. less or no middlemen between you and the publisher);
2- no ruined discs spoiling games;
3- no spinning drive noise;
4- shorter loading times
5- more durable console, especially if solid state storage is used (such as flash memory).
6- more environmentally friendly
There are also some disadvantages, such as not being able to loan/sell games, but if the games are at least 30% cheaper, sign me up.
