I remember going to the mall with my parents. I dragged my mom into KB Toy Store and took her to the counter. I showed her a game that I wanted, it was Phantasy Star II for Genesis. I begged and pouted until she gave in. She asked the guy at the counter to pull out the game. He said it was $89.99. She looked at me and said, "Do you really want this?". When she said that, she really wanted to say, "I don't think we should get this, it costs too much." Then I said, "Yes." She couldn't say no to me for some reason at that point. I felt bad, but she went ahead and bought it.

Me and my mom walked out of the store and my mom looked ashamed to talk to my dad. My dad asked her what we bought and my mom looked like she was scared to tell him. So she told him and they talked about it for a while. Then my dad said, "it's ok, we'll just have to watch the budget this week." I felt so bad. -_-

I know that I shouldn't have said yes to buying that game, but I wanted it so bad.

$89.99 back then is like almost double what it is now, almost $160

I don't feel so bad these days. My mom has my old NES hooked up in her room and plays Super Mario Brothers almost every night for hours on end. The longest I've seen her play was 6 hours straight. She's never beaten it though. I also hooked up my Wii in her room. She loves the bowling and is REALLY good at it.
