I agree about the Act 3 tailing mission but i feel that the cutscene at the end of that Act more than pays for that.

 

So true. Amazing cut scene, although its times like that when you think 'kojima wants us to watch and not play the cool parts sadly'

 

Act 3 in MGS4 was bad...The cutscene made up for it but that Act 3 mission belonged in a Syphon Filter game not MGS.
