I'm indifferent to this situation because...
You know people will come in just like they do when the companies release their shipped numbers and be like "this says they sold blah amount VGC is so off!" that's why I think he should add them.
Maybe he could do something like add a section on the game page for users to be able to put the last reported shipped figures... I don't know/
