Yup, as long as you're willing to pay, you'll pay.

XBL might be the best service currently (not my opinion), but that shouldn't mean you should pay for it. It should factor into the cost of the console when you buy it...of course there's people working 24/7 for Live...just as there are people working for PSN and Nintendo...? (they probably sleep at night on piles of money hehe).

PC gaming is totally free and is way more expansive than console services...and we don't pay to play. If Games for Windows launched free, it might have done better...though probably not because it's sloppy, only really features a few games, and is pretty much pointless.

$40 a year isn't that much, so you probably don't care to throw it down...it'd be stupid to boycott and miss out on the XBL features, after all...but if everyone did stop using XBL and gave Microsoft a ton of negative press...they'd pretty much have to cut the price.

LOL.  By the looks of Nintendo's online, it looks like they are just always sleeping.

As for XBox Live, I have the payment automatically debtited every month, in which case I think I am paying $7.99 each month(might be $6.99).  I really do not care either.
