Like Montana said, we'll be extremely lucky if we find ANY trace that life was ever on Mars.

There's a nearly 0% chance that intelligent life (IE, conscious, sentient) ever existed on Mars.

You base that 0% chance on what exactly?

I'm sure there is no life now but without putting feet on the ground and exploring, we can't say for sure that there was never any life there.
