Here is what I mean
The left 2/3 of the screen (critical in Metroid Prime and most other games) you must buy the thumb strap and somehow playing using that. I don't remember the layout for Metroid Prime but what if jump is in the top left corner? What if roll into a ball is just under jump? "Opps I meant to slide of to jump." Another uncomfortable stretch. Your eyes are on the top screen and you can't afford to look down when surrounded by bad guys. Those are awful stretches your thumb has to do and when playing something with any action such as a platformer or shooter you're bound to rub your thumb dry of grease and numb your nerves.
On a PSP you can feel exactly where your fingers are without looking because it uses buttons, much better for action adventure games. Also PSP buttons are located near the edge. None of this stretch your thumb across the unit till your thumb cries "Mercy" nonsense.
