What? Rome was "downfalling" way before Christianity became the state´s religion.
And obviously many religions are going to have things in common.
We´re humans. The images we use, the metaphors we create are always going to be similar, because we share similar functions (we think alike). That´s what makes society possible for us. It´s not a simple rip-off.
