@talkingparrot: Isn't Mirror's Edge using UE3?

Don't know about Burnout though.

Yessir you are absolutely correct.  However, Mirror's Edge also uses Liquidlight's lighting engine.  It is a revolutionary engine.  The "myth" that PS3 cannot do Unreal Engine properly is just that, a myth.  The problem, however, is difficulty getting the juice out.

EA has been one of those developer's that has dedicated its resources in PS3 research and are quickly becoming a premiere developer on the console.  I thought I would never utter those words.

I don't want to come off biased though.  I think for all intents and purposes, currently, the Xbox 360 represents an amazing value that has never been seen in videogaming.  I do believe the PS3 to be the superior hardware, and not just marginally.  However, I will say this- the Xbox 360 has brought the best out of both the Wii and the PS3.  That is no understatement.

I think the issue with UE3 is similar to Silicon Knights' issues with the engine.  Notice that developers didn't start using UE3 on the ps3 effectively until after UTIII came out?  If I had to venture a guess, I'd say that Epic was withholding major updates to the engine from licensees until after their own title had been released, instead of handing them out during development as they were implemented into their own version of the engine, much like what SK accused them of doing with Gears on the 360.
