Are you getting stuck with fighting the large group of enemies in the large area, when you first walk in?
Typically, what I do in those areas is order your 2 extra guys to stand right at the entrance of the first corridor - maybe 5-10 feet back. Charge in by yourself to the large room, and shoot off a few rounds. Quickly run back to your friends, and wait for 2-3 guys to come charging into the narrow corridor.
Depending on your skillset, either shoot them, grenade them a few times, or use tech/biotic powers to do area damage to the group. After a few "rounds" of drawing them out, you should be able to kill 'em all.
I never really had too much trouble with it when I stuck with that strategy.
