Is Los Angeles a good place to go on Vacation?

LA is not the kind of place you go to for a relaxing vacation. It is the kind of place you visit to see things. If you want to relax after visiting LA, then I recommend staying in a less crowded city or town along US Highway 1 somewhere between LA and San Francisco (there are a few of them).

Cambria is best if you're coming out of LA, Big Sur is better if you're coming out of San Fran. Monterey is also awesome (love that town). Remember that Cambria and Big Sur are extremely remote. There isn't much to do other than see Hearst Castle (which is absolutely amazing BTW) and drive up PCH (my favorite road in all the world, absolutely breathtaking).

 

 

I would give a few years before visiting Big Sur, a wildfire recently went through that area and got really close to the town, even burning some buildings around it.  Probably not the best vacation spot at the moment.  Those other suggestions are great though.
