Actually, they can't. the price is the price. It's set by the MS, Sony, and Nintendo. Consoles are one of those things that are fixed price (might be the only thing). That's why bundles are so popular.

Anyway, if it's $299, this means Sony better drop there price, or they are in big trouble in the US.

 

Not ture. MSRP stand for Manufactuars Suggested Retail Price. Retailers can at their discretion sell items for higher or lower then the MSRP. FYE is notorious for doing this. When new games are released they are usually $59.99, FYE hikes the games up and sells them for $62.99 to make extra profit. They also so it to get you to buy their backstage pass which saves you 10% off of purchases.

99% of retailers sell items at MSRP because if they don't it would be a loss to them.
