I disagree. They should bundle in Grand Theft Auto IV and 12-Months of Xbox Live as a way to attract those wary about paying for online. Or they could bundle a Netflix account for 12 months and 12 months of Live, which would be a nice cross promotion. Or they could bundle Call of Duty 5 and 12 months of live if they can get Activision's A-ok. In any case, the best deal would be to sell Live with the console for at least 3 months minimum, to a maximum of 12 months on the Pro and Elite SKUs.

There's no way they will bundle an R-rated game with the console. Not if they want to push it to soccer moms.

Do they want to push it to soccer moms though? Grand Theft Auto is quite possibly the biggest franchise on Earth right now and it would attract many people to the console. M-Rated games can be bundled too, as MGS 4 has shown.

My point was to focus on the Live subscription in the box and push it with a product that is made much better with a Gold Subscription, like GTA IV, Netflix or Call of Duty 5. The two create a very enticing package.
