Ok odds are you've played some of these, but I'll try and exclude ones you've mentioned.
FFX and X-2 - You've probably at least played FFX, but even though X-2 wasn't the greatest game, I liked the battle system.
Dragon Quest VIII - Not an active battle system, but a great RPG
Dark Cloud 1/2
Kingdom Hearts 1/2 - Probably played these too
Persona 3: FES - Great game, but also turn based
hell, most SMT games are worth playing as an RPG fan.
Shadow Hearts 1/2
Valkyrie Profile 2 - Sort of active, it is an interesting battle system to say the least.
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter - You can move around, but still turn based
Tales of the Abyss - Great game, and it has an active battle system
Rogue Galaxy - Generic story, but good action based gameplay
I can probably think of more later. I've never really minded grinding, so I don't really remember how grind intensive these are.
