This thread is bullshit, Skeeuk why do you keep posting these quotes from people that are paid by Sony? Its just PR talk and doesn't mean anything at all.

Their comment about how 2.40 came out and now look how fast their working because we're already up to 2.42 is just such a twatty thing for Sony to say, considering 2.41 was just a fix to make sure that 2.40 didn't break anymore PS3s.

Seriously. Its mind numingly boring these threads and just clutters the front page.

I can't belive you have so much faith in microsoft, take this above statement that you made, and apply it to the friggin 360 you support so dearly, they're CURRENT MODELS still have 8%> failure rate!!!! Are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!

@Rocket, I know I know, I was taking my pot-shot at Microsoft for they're BS strategies with they're operating systems :P They could have taken they're heaps of money and offered us the future we only saw in movies, but they seem to put just enough to get people to buy it, not spades and then some. I just think, if people keep comming to they're service day by day, and paying no less! That they have little reason to flesh out they're offerings further. I'm just being harsh on MS :P

Where did I mention Microsoft, I was making the point that although the press release says "look how much work we've done EVEN SINCE 2.40"....They've done jack shit. I'm not trolling I picking apart joke of a press release or whatever its supposed to be.

What has that got to do with microsoft? I'd do exactly the same if someone posted such gibberish for any company.

The 360 has an atrocious failiure rate, I don't disagree with that at all. I hate the fruity MS dashboard, I've got no problem calling a spade a spade. I'm calling that sony statement a complete pr piss take.

What exactly are the differences between 2.40 and 2.42 firmware on the PS3?

Merely fixing mistakes :P They pushed a product out and didn't work out all the bugs. I don't commend them for it, but they remedied any situation pretty fast. I'm just saying MS wishes they're hardware probs were so easy. Sorry for lashing :)

@Disolotude, you have some good points, but as Rocket mentioned earlier, playing catch-up is much easier than paving. Microsoft has a blueprint sitting there for what they're "networking" should be all about. I'm actually admiring XNA and Home for trying to bring something else to the table. XNA for more creative ideas, and Home for a social interface for the playstation brand, not a game in itself, but a way to take your games and make them more social.
