Good lord...People are crazy when attacking Neos.
Playstation 1:

September 9th, 1995 (US)
September 29th, 1995 (EU)
Total time to launch between 1st and last major territory: 20.5mo
Playstation 2:
March 4th, 2000 (JP)
October 26th, 2000 (US)
November 24th, 2000 (EU)
Total time to launch between 1st and last major territory: 16mo
Playstation 3:
November 11th, 2007 (JP)
November 17th, 2007 (US)
March 26th, 2008 (EU)
Total time to launch between 1st and last major territory: 4.5mo
So even if the PS3 didn't "launch worldwide at the same time", it still launched VASTLY closer to a worldwide launch than the PS1 did, or the PS2. And since VGC doesn't take that into consideration, we should. Why not compare sales patterns of the PS1/2 at their given time periods (10mo and 8mo after launch) against the PS3's at 4.5mo in to see where real sales lie?
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
