If this is just one area, I'll say that it's a scripted sequence and because the cover is destructible, they are programmed to "crouch lower". It'd be interesting if over 100 playthroughs they did something different at least once, that'd be intelligent AI. That's why I like gears 1 so much, if you play differently a second time around, you get a different result. Also, one area doesn't define a game, from the majority of what I've seen of KZ2, there's a whole lot of scripted sequences that don't feel scripted (kudos to the team for pulling that off), but at the same time I've rarely seen the player get hurt in any of the videos. |
Wow, that's a lot to write when you don't watch the video. It's not a level at all, it's a tech demo. It's one enemy out in an open area, with three pieces of cover. The person destroys parts of the cover, and the one enemy reacts to it. WHen the cover is gone, the guy moves to new cover. I would assume this means most all enemies in the game will have this AI. It also means if you destroy different parts of the map in a second play though, they will fight you differently.
it's not a huge deal, but it's still a nice thing (and I know of no other game at the moment doing this well). To look at it and say anything negative, is just mindless bashing. It from people who want the game to suck.
