Disclosure: I'm long ERTS and now own TTWO calls, so admittedly, I have an interest in a higher bid (especially from someone other than ERTS). But it is in no way ridiculous to conclude that TTWO could, and should, be bought for a price much higher than it's current share price (high $24) and offer price (~$25.75).

First off, this post is magic. You are the man.
Next. Everyone keeps arguing over market share v. profit. MS went into business to put Sony and Nintendo out of it. They failed. They will continue to fail because of two reasons.
1. Nintendo is rolling in money, not equity nor liquidity like MS, MONEY. Cold hard cash. Green backs (en aren't green but you know what I mean).
2. Sony is happy selling the PS3 as a BluRay player. They could lose another 3-4 billion and not even blink. It's been part of there plan to get BluRay out there and in homes. If they get that (which they're doing) they will hold on to the disc market which will exist for at least another 20 years. There's not going to be another TV format so 40GB movie discs will be big enough for a while. World wide streaming and downloading will not be viable for a long time.

BluRay has no more of a chance of lasting 20 years than DVD had. In fact, disc media in general is going to be a thing of the past probably in the next 10 to 15 years.
And furthermore, 1Microsoft is in business to make money. So is Sony. So is Nintendo. They make money by selling things to customers before their competitors can. It's not a personal vendetta against retard fanboys. It's business. Ask Sony, if they had a chance to put Microsoft out of business, don't you think they would? Do you think that because Nintendo makes cute and cuddly Mario games that they would not devour their competition if given the chance?
Do you guys actually think ANY of these companies actually care about you? They don't. Developers and publishers don't either. All they want is to make a game/console and sell it to you. That's it. 2They're not doing it because they love you as a person or because they particularly care about your personal experience with their product. After you shell out the money for it, they personally don't care what you think.
3Microsoft has not failed in any way, shape, or form. They have taken significant market share away from the top player in the console business. Their market share combined with Nintendo's has put Sony in third place. That may be only temporary, but I hardly call it a failure. 4All three companies have had their failures. MS has had the hardware issues, Nintendo has had issues with their "kids and old people" image, and Sony had issues with mass appeal, pricing, and lack of software at launch. And all three companies have a viable product out on the market. At the end of this generation, they still will.

1&3 contradict each other.Nope - Microsoft is making money, and theres no reason why it would be different next year. 4 is wrong, Nintendo hasn't had a loss since entering the videogame market. He said failures - try virtual boy, power glove for starters. 2 makes no sense, I never mentioned my personal preference. Actually # 2 is wrong, they do care because if you didn't enjoy your experience with the Xbox360 then you wouldn't tell your friends to buy one would you?
Next disc formats aren't going to die. Why? Because retailers will not let it. Do you think Wal Mart is going to sit by and not find a way to tempt movie studios and game companies to continue to stock shelves with discs?
VHS is still around, DVD is still around (it's only been around for 11 years, but it is not dying any time soon), Bluray is only beginning to become mass market. DVD and Bluray will coexist quite nicely for a while.
Of course MS wants to make money. The way MS has always made money is by killing the competition and then raising prices. They are trying to do that with gaming and it is not working.
