Happiness of the Katakuris by Takashi Miike in 2001. It has everything I've ever wanted out of a film. It's not to be confused with his more famous ultra-gore shocker movies like Visitor Q and stuff. It's brilliant.

Also, Forbidden Zone by Richard Elfman in 1982. (His brother Danny kinda started a band for this movie, in which they do all the music and he plays Satan.) It also stars Herve Villaichez as the King of the 6th Dimension.

These are both musicals and amazing.
