Yeah a good action movie ......but what pisses me off is the fact that this film cashing in the Terhmopylae battle will for sure mean the movie planned in the same subject after the vastly superior book "Gates of Fire " by Steven Pressfield wont ever see the day .That book depicts realistically the battle (spartans without armour ??!! sure !) and what was ancient Sparta ,its society and economic and social system ,its code of valours etc ,and starts one year before the battle to explain all the political and militar moves (spartans and athenians attacking some other greeks that were willing to pass to the persians because terrorized ) to assure the greek position ...until the battle that is .There you really grow affect for many charachters (Dienekes ,Xeones ,Pollinices ,Leonidas ,Alexandros ...many others ) unlike 300 wich is much more comic book-esque .
