Because God created life only here, and he created the rest of the Universe because he wanted to show the greatness of his power. And this is coming directly from the Bible (not the exact words, but similar idea).

where? Where does the bible say only Earth has life? Why would an infinitely powerful God limit himself to only one puny planet out of quadrillions of others that God created?

What you say is absolutely not present in the Bible, nor any other religious literature, in fact the Qur'an says the exact opposite. It says God has created before and will create after us, for God is. Not to be mean, but, I take your stance on the topic to be very belittling of God's majesty and frankly just plain naive.

 

Although we may never see extraterrestrial life like you said, I'm going to have to go with Superchunk here. 

If you could post some sort of reference or something....'cause I don't remember reading anything about that.
