However there is no region in Canada that pronounces it like [əbut] "a boot"
As a Canadian I can tell you the only time I have ever heard "about" pronounced "aboot" is in American tv/movies making fun of Canadians.
The thing I think is ironic about the whole scene in South Park, is that its an American movie implying the whole world thinks Canadians have silly pronounciation; the whole world does think that Canadians have silly pronounciation, because Canadian pronounciation is almost identical to American.
