Official Dark Knight discussion ***SPOILERS***

[Girl Gamer Elite]

This movie was good but not great. Really a film whose impact quickly leaves you after the film ends and comes across in hindsight as a muddled mess. The beginning was brilliant and clever but quickly trailed off into a serious of events and plot devices that featured the joker and his ploys in a near episodic and dissorienting circular manner. The Pacing was akward and any scene not involving CGI had questionable cinematography, it was puzzling seeing batman fly in with beautiful CGI then run off down a dark allyway looking like some dude at a con running with his cape tangled behind him. The Joker was great but by the end of the movie just came across feeling distant and informal, like the movie was a journey you weren't a part of.

I mean the movie killed Two-Face as a side character, and the Character development was tenuous at best. Christian Bale as batman sounds like a gravely voiced Charleton Hestin. The movie as a whole seem poorly planned but came together well none the less. It's a good movie, but not a great movie. Something I would definitly never want to watch a second time.

This is not to make people feel bad who did like it, there is nothing wrong with loving this movie, however a movie objectively cannot be carried by just one character (joker) and after hearing all the hype about how great a joker he was, he really didn't impress me that much, he didn't dissapoint either, he was just lukewarm, if he had stayed as clever as he was at the beginning I would have gladly conceded his greatness, but as it stands he just sort of trailed off as the movie progressed.

The Mafias, Harvey Dent, the Commissioner and that annoying Mary Jane wannabe awkwardly made up 80% of the movies plodding development while the Joker filled the role of the movie's interesting foil and Batman the guy who was there when he had to be.

Like 300, this is a movie that stuns and awes the masses at release and slowly loses its polish as time passes.
