The difference between unreal and crysis tech is that a great deal of developers use unreal and thus any improvement to the unreal engine has far more impact on the industry then crysis's graphics engine has had.
BTW I've been saying it for years now but the 360 and ps3 are essentially exactly the same. The difference is negligible.
