 No... actually this isn't how it happened at all. They wanted a simple name and like someone else said, it was a play on words for "We", showing that it was for everyone, and it is. Also if you are american and you are trying to talk to someone from Brazil, or Korea or anyone from another country and you say "PS3" they're aren't going to know what you are talking about. But if you say "Wii", they would. There's no translation for it, it's not complicated and anyone can have fun with it.
