Oh Snap! Beautiful Katamari Cancelled on PS3 to be replaced by other game?

i can't understand all the drama about Katamari not being a PS3 game anymore. did anyone bother to play the ones for ps2? i doubt more than 90 % of the people on this site played them . katamari games are fun for a while, but nothing special. 39.99 price tag, not for me
