Blu Ray
- Better image quality
- Scratch resistant surface
- Better sound quality
- Not backwards compatible with current DVD players
- Most people are currently happy enough with DVD
It costs more than your average DVD too - by quite a decent margin, depending on where you source them from.
Xbox Live Gold
- More online content
- Better/More variety online games
- Universal headsets allow for much better player interaction
- Allows access to 12,000 streamable movies with a netflix accout
- Argument PSN is good enough for most people.
