@shio...Where does that 270 million figure come from.
Also I'm pretty sure there are just as many gamers.... Only the "hardcore" buy every system. Many people only buy 1 console and leave it at that.
I suppose you are probably right when you tally up multiple accounts, and accounts of Koreans and Chinese who don't actually have a PC, but use internet cafes.
Transporting a PC to and from a TV is awkward, even doing this with my Gamecube was annoying.
People don't want to buy an extra PC just for connecting to a TV, it would also need a keyboard and mouse to set it up before getting to the game... which would need to be stored somewhere when you are not gaming.
Well I haven't bought a PC in a while, but our last one was much uglier than the 360, and 2-3 times the size at a guess. And PS3 looks good to me, but only from certain angles... I have a Wii, it is consierably less imposing and more stylish than your average PC stack.
Adding things to the list to buy is not making PCs a better option. So rather than just buying a Wii, I have to buy a PC, a controller, and an expensive chair.

You have to look atthis from a normal consumers view... take my house for example (average semi in the UK, probably more than average amount of space).
In my parents room there is a desk with a computer and printer on it.... You could fit a TV on there too (although that's more to buy) but first of all it's not my room, so I couldn't game when I wanted, and second I would have to sit in a computer swivel chair, not designed for lounging back and gaming.
In my bedroom I couldn't fit a computer stack/keyboard anywhere. (and if I could it means buying another because I am not transporting it from my parents room)
Similarly downstairs there is no room for it anywhere near our TV (The Wii just fits into a little gap of the TV stand)
