| ckmlb said: http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/805/805606p1.html Bandai Namco Games unleashed a big surprise at Sony's PlayStation Premier event today in Tokyo with the announcement of an all new game from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi. So much for the claims of Japanese support for PS3 weakening. |
Whoa whoa now, Ck, that last line is flame bait. There is no question that PS3 support from Japanese companies is weakening. They said so themselves. SquareEnix even officially said that they would not make more games for the system unless/until sales of hardware picked up!
Saying that support is weakening is very different than saying there will be no support at all. I fully expect there to be a good number of nice titles for the Playstation this generation.

See how that third article says that PS3 support will be "reduced by 40 percent?" That means these companies will still be making games for the Playstation system, just not as many as before. That is the definition of weakening support. I don't think anyone is saying there will literally be no support at all -- or if anyone is saying that, they're clearly wrong.
