I usually buy all systems, but I was not pleased when MS prematurely superceded the XBOX with the 360. I don't accept any of the reasons for that as being acceptable to consumers (i.e., it's not my problem if they made poor decisions causing losses and I don't see the need to accept the obsolence so that they can attempt to gain market share).

As time went by RRoD and the overpriced "accessories" that cost nothing on all other consoles kept me, and still keeps me from buying a 360 (i.e., WiFi and Live). Really, the industry standard is included WiFi and free online.

I hoped that MS showed a 360-mote at E3 with a patch allowing older games to use it (can see this as not being too difficult for FPS'). This didn't happen, so I am going to buy my only "360 must have" for the PS3: BioShock. I plan on getting one of the FragFX controllers for FPS on the PS3 (had an adapter for the XBOX years ago that came from Lik Sang, it is excellent!).

As the third anniversary of the 360 quickly approaches and the console's sales usually hit 3rd place worldwide (and often 3rd place in each major region), I am very leery of a successor model in 2009. I could easily see MS announcing a new console at CES in January, right after Christmas sales...
