I'm still decidin between gettin a ps3 or 360, and so far I've already tried and refunded a 360, and now I'm trying a ps3. I made the mistake of getting Gta4 with the 360, and while it was a good game with a long-lasting singleplayer, I thought the online play was really bad, and because of that the game only lasted me about 2 weeks.

I heard Halo3's singleplayer was abit short, but how's the online? Being a former PC gamer, the 16-player limit on most console games seems really weak. GTA4 didn't even have an option to pick your own multiplayer server, which I reaaally hated. Can you find your own servers in Halo3? And if so, is it easy to find a 16-player match? I've never played any other console game online besides Gta4 so I don't have a good idea of how most online console gaming is.

I also read about Forge, which sounds really good. Can you change the default weapon you start with, and restrict specific weapons? I only barely remember playing Halo1-2 in splitscreen, and sometimes the grenade-whoring got old really fast. The main thing I never liked about any of the Halo's though is how high you can jump - is that something you can change in Halo3's multiplayer?

Ok I'll try and answer all your question point by point.

Halo 3 Campaign- The campaign can be relatively short based on the difficulty but there is alot of replay value based off of playing up to 4 player co-op, finding all the skull and finding all the terminals. Once you find the skulls you can also change the way the campaign is played by turning certain functions on or off.

Halo 3 Matchmaking- In this mode you can go in with a party of friends into a series of preset playlists, each with its own limit on the number of players and specific gametypes. These range from purely objective based playlists all the way to 8v8 matches in big team slayer. There are also unranked playlists that you can go into if your not very into the competitive scene. Also the limited number of players allowed in Halo is due to Halo simply being a game that works better with smaller numbers. Unlike some other shooters, Halo is alot of action from the get-go, so even in 4v4's your not going to ever be standing around doing nothing.

Halo 3 Customs- This is where you can make your own custom games changing the rules however you see fit. With forge you can make your own maps which people can download from you while giving you the option to download anyone elses maps. In your custom game you can change almost anything you could think of, heres a small list: gravity, player speed, starting weapons, colours, weapons on map, grenades on map. Also in Halo 3 you can only hold 2 grenades maximum of any type (there are 4 types). Unfortunately as of now there is no function to search for custom games amongst people not in your friends list.

Extra Features- One of the most innovative feature of Halo 3 (for a console game) is the ability to record entire games and view the games from any angle: first person, free cam, third person. You can also save film clips if theres only a small part of the game that interests you. Another option is that you can take screenshots in game by using the camera to give you any shot you want.

Overview- Sorry for the long post but honestly everything I wrote up there isn't even close the full options available in the game. Halo is the type of game where you love it or hate it, most people seem to love it. If your getting a 360 I would highly recomend this game. If you have anyother questions I could answer please ask. If you ever get the game send me a friend request and I'll show you around the game- Rellik2172
