Halo 3 is a good solid game. It's not groundbreaking and the single player is kind of so-so. Even so, the multi-player is still a blast. I've actually never had the problem of loud mouthed kids. I think being in the recreation "zone" helps attribute to that. There's something about Halo 3 multi-player that's just right. I don't know what it is.
However, it sounds like you currently have a PS3 and returned a 360? So you're thinking of getting another 360 then? I wouldn't recommend a 360 just for Halo 3.
Regardless of what system you currently own, if you were a PC gamer and enjoyed Counterstrike, you should really try Call of Duty 4. A fantastic game. Even the single player, though short, was fantastic.
