I'm still decidin between gettin a ps3 or 360, and so far I've already tried and refunded a 360, and now I'm trying a ps3. I made the mistake of getting Gta4 with the 360, and while it was a good game with a long-lasting singleplayer, I thought the online play was really bad, and because of that the game only lasted me about 2 weeks.

I heard Halo3's singleplayer was abit short, but how's the online?  Being a former PC gamer, the 16-player limit on most console games seems really weak. GTA4 didn't even have an option to pick your own multiplayer server, which I reaaally hated. Can you find your own servers in Halo3? And if so, is it easy to find a 16-player match? I've never played any other console game online besides Gta4 so I don't have a good idea of how most online console gaming is.

I also read about Forge, which sounds really good. Can you change the default weapon you start with, and restrict specific weapons? I only barely remember playing Halo1-2 in splitscreen, and sometimes the grenade-whoring got old really fast. The main thing I never liked about any of the Halo's though is how high you can jump - is that something you can change in Halo3's multiplayer?

Coming from games like BF, from 64/32 match game to 16/8 can be really hard at the first, but console shooters are harder to master for the controls, and in this case small match help a lot, my advise would be play it first with a friend, IMO is a good game and the online matchs can be really good.
