I disagree... IMO Microsoft realizes that even when you're on top, you have to continue to deliver to maintain that position. Now I know waves of people will read this and will be itching to complain about things they don't like about microsoft... But I think if anything, Microsoft would INCREASE quality controls if they were dominant. For instance, for a great gaming experience, Xbox 360 games are required to function a certain way with Xbox live, and these quality controls make 360's online experience the uncontested king. Microsoft has a vision for the future of gaming, but as long as they are fighting to just contend, they can't alienate third party developers with additional criteria... But if you wanted to see a future with seamless console/PC interaction, even better quality online experience, and numerous other advancements, then I belive MS gaining the dominant position in the console marketplace is a good thing.

PS - I'm referring to a positive future if Microsoft is on top - I'm not suggesting it would be better for us gamers if they had a monopoly.
