Basically what these figures are telling us is that the 360 has the higher sales volume. Has the higher global attach rate. Has the higher attach rate within Japan. Apparently the 360 owners in Japan are more infatuated with the genre then their PS3 brethren which love their RPGs to death literally. Look at that I sunk your battle ship well it was obsolete thinking at its worse. The idea that the genre actually performs better on the PS3. When in fact the PS3 is like the death knell.
Second lets deal in absolute facts. When it comes to a library if at this moment a game is exclusive there is no proof that it will cease to be so. Keep hopeful ramblings at a minimum, and do not present them as facts. I find it disturbing that you completely assume 360 exclusive titles will go to the PS3. While PS3 exclusive titles will not go to the 360. That is bad logic especially given the fact that Microsoft has a propensity of liberating title exclusivity from Sony. While Sony has not shown the same capacity with Microsoft titles. Your pulling at straws, and if you believe that Microsoft purchased their exclusives you must also concede it is likely that a number of those would be permanent exclusives.
Third you have completely forgotten Mistwalker Microsoft's ace in the hole developer. That has already brought two exclusives to the 360 has a third announced in the pipe, and is probably developing two more titles in house whether original or sequels. To be blunt the developer is probably going to deliver an average of at least two titles per year for the 360 platform.
Forth what constitutes a role playing game is not up for debate. We have what is called popular consent. Titles like Folklore are not considered role playing games they are considered action titles. This is what the critics, and gamers have decided the title is. Who are you to say everyone else is wrong. I wouldn't have included Cry On in the list either being that it is a more action oriented title.
Your statements are a chain of lies. Supported by nothing other then innuendo and hyperbole. The sales performance does not back your statements. In fact they reflect a reality that is the opposite of your assertions. The PS3 has not proven capable of moving a Japanese Role Playing game yet. They cannot even manage to sell role playing games within their own territory. Now if you think developers are oblivious to this your in for a hell of a ride. Microsoft has proven they can move these titles, and are willing to bankroll them.
What you need to know is this the future of the PS3 lineup is not lying on Final Fantasy XIII. The future of the lineup lays with Valkyrie Chronicles. This title performed par for Japan on the PS3 which is the standard abysmal. What needs to happen is for the title to sell really well outside of Japan. Otherwise third party developers will have their verdict. The PS3 cannot move role playing games whereas the 360 can. Once that happens Microsoft will be able to only gather up more exclusive titles not less.
