I think the whether the PSP is a success or not won't be known until the PSP2 comes out. The PSP was launched when the playstation name was at it's peak. Assuming the PS3 doesn't make a remarkable comeback then we will see with the PSP2 whether or not it can sell on it's own merits instead of being carried by the playstation brand.
