Yep, I never played the NES version; but the Xbox version was so ridiculous easy, nothing ranged that wasn't magic could hit you if you had half a brain, the walk jump off+power attack would kill ANY group of NPCs, the only challange was the boss fights, which varied extremely in diffculty, there were boss fights you could nimpo to death in a matter of seconds... the only "hard" bosses I found were the flying horned cocky mouth thing(devil I think?) and the 30 skulls with legs... not to mention the final boss fight is the easiest in the game...

I agree.  Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden Sigma are pretty easy once you get used to the combat system.  Basically use Izuna drop or something to kill one enemy ASAP, then use that essence to kill everything else.  I just recently bought Ninja Gaiden Sigma, but I stopped playing it when I got to act 15 because I honestly got a little bored of it (had Ninja Gaiden Black when I had my XBox360 and decided to get Ninja Gaiden Sigma for cheap).

On the other hand, Devil May Cry 1 frustrates me to no end.  I can't get into it's combat system at all, and I've made very little headway into that game.  I'm at the boss right after you stick that sword into that statue.  And there's a mirror in the room or something.  I haven't given it a whirl recently, so I'm just going off memory.
