Don't wanna claim that it is a 'system seller' but these are the numbers for Disgaea games so far:

Disgaea 1: 295,000 in Japan and 122,000 Elsewhere. 

Disgaea 2: 160,000 in Japan and 125,000 Elsewhere. 

So it has sold well in the past.
