...whoever says toon link is great must be weird...remember

back then we were expecting a huge Zelda title..and this came along...

we all expected Link to ALWAYS look like Toon Link from then....thank god it's not true..

Toon Link is cool in the 2D games...but ion 3D?..he's too clueless and stupid...
Link is supposed to be resolute...not dumb

if he only looked as cool in the game as in his art..I'd accept him..as long as the main series never adopts him as the only Link to go for...meh..

(Wind Waker's story didn't play like a Zelda..it was weird...the GAME on the other hand was good)

I wasn't a Zelda fan back when Wind Waker was revealed, but I would have been one of the few fans of the style at that time, amongst thousands of whiny Zelda fans.

Toon Link is great in 3D. He can show emotion, and to this day The Wind Waker Link is the ONLY one with anything resembling a personality. (PH Link lost that unfortunately)

And he looks just the same in the game as in the art. How is it any different? Compare my avatar to the ingame Link.

Finally, how didn't the story play like a Zelda? It was different, sure, but overall I'd say it's the best story in the series.

it's not the best story...and Toon Link showed too much surprise on his face.TP link also shows emotions..but his entire design shouts: LINK

Toon Link does not..he just looks like a boy..even Young Link looks resolute...

as for the art: check out the art for Four Sword Adventures..THAT is resolute...that shouts Link..yet..in 3D he fails hard...

th best Zelda story?....I don't think you get it...all Zelda games follow one big story..and WW story is out of place..and weird...it just is ^^''

it feels screwed up....and the game doesn't really play as a Zelda game..except for Dungeons

seriously..I understand you're a newer fan..it's really okay ^_^''

but Link has no voice..and not too much emotion...and you should understand why: Zelda is a game..not a movie

YOU are the Hero...'Link' is a name they gave...cuz, well...Hero sounds stupid, Link is you...you should write your name...so you're the main character...expressions..words are yours.

if the game did all of it for you, Zelda wouldn't be Zelda anymore..and you wouldn't feel like Link...

I do like TP Link's design as well, I think they should alternate between the two. (on the consoles as well)

Toon Link does look like "just a boy", but that's one of the reasons I like it. He doesn't look like someone who was magically destined to be a hero. (see OoT Link, TP Link)

FSA Art and the Link in TWW...what are the differences?

Seems LESS like Link to me, if anything.

Also, I'd argue the gameplay is very similar.

Sailing takes place of walking around Hyrule Field, or Epona. The game has tons of exploration, which is very true to the Zelda feel. The dungeons of course as you said. The islands take the form of the towns in OoT or TP, and there are tons of sidequests. I don't see how it doesn't play as Zelda.

I'm a newer fan indeed, but I still like the older games as well. (I prefer 3D to 2D however)

The story makes perfect sense, really. The story in the game itself is wonderful, and it makes sense in the "timeline" as well. (it is confusing at first, but search up "zelda split timeline" on google)

I've never liked the "Link is you" thing. I am not a young kid, living on an island, with no parents and a sister. I am playing as Link, a character in itself. It's not like when I play Mario I want to name myself and say "I'm playing as me!" yay. And since that's how I think of Link, as a character of the game, and that's why I like The Wind Waker Link's personality.

I am not the main character, Link is. However, I am playing as Link, so in a sense I am the main character.

I think you have a different interpation of Link and the series, which is fine, but mine is totally different...I am not Link, Link is Link.

Anyway, no more point in arguing, your opinion is yours and mine is mine.

so the problem here is that it fails...you wanan play AS Link? go play any other fantasy game..LoZ was different from the start....

anyone who wants voices in LoZ is weird...especially if they complain about Link not talking..there's a reason behind it...if you don't get that you're not a Zelda fan..

Mario is a different game entirely...but started with the same premise: Mario is the allaround middle aged carpenter (then plumber)...who magically gets lost in another world

and about the art you chose >_> only red and green look off..go check the others...

these are the ones I meant though ^_^'' I get what you're saying..but seeing as how Nintendo is going back to it's roots..you might not be liking the next few Zelda games..as PH fixed the gay Toon Link thing

I don't *hate* toon link....he's just not Link ....WW Link sounds too sissy..and looks like one too

while Young Link..or any other Link for that matter...just check it..

besides that: WW story doesn't fit..the split timeline itself is screwed up..MM shows that Link has to return to Hyrule..why?

song of storms..: Link teaches that dude the song of storms in OoT...the old mean teaches it to old link...that's how you do it in OoT

MM explain how young Link learned it in the first place (since it's the same, young Link and only 3 days pass anyway)

he learns the actual song of Storms in MM...this is something you can only know form PLAYING the games..and not from main plot summaries..

that's what tells the true Zelda tales..what you find in the background..not just the foreground..and WW missed alot:

Gorons died? wth? Zoras died? wth? Kokiri's turned into wood?!?!?

it screwed it up...with not reason...it felt like a stupid kid story
